Gus was abandoned at a boarding facility. The people that owned him stopped coming to see him and then stopped
paying his board. Brigadoon was contacted to see if we could help.
When we arrived and approached his stall, he just looked over his shoulder and pinned his ears at us and returned to
sulking in his stall. It was sad to see how depressed he had become.
We brought him to our farm and put him in his stall with food and water and a nice warm blanket, we left him with a pat
and told him it would be okay. He looked at us as if to say , Prove It.
It took us some time to get him to open up but he now looks forward to people coming to see him, especially children,
and he has even been known to nicker once in a while as if to say Thank You.
Gus is old about 18-20 years of age, he has arthritis and is a little stiff but his eyes are bright again and their is
a knowledge behind them that you just wish he could talk to share it with you. He knows he is loved and will be loved
for the rest of his life. He has the security to know he won't be left again because he will live his life at Brigadoon
and his friends here will never abandon him.
